This Woo Audio Eclipse WA8 was purchased to replace the Woo FIreFly headphone amp/dac that I used with my home studio. I never used it for its portability. It was a standalone unit connected to a MacBook Pro using Roon to play through first ADAM AX-7 powered studio monitors and then ELAC Navis B-51powered music speakers over thier proprietary BlueTooth Wireless Transmitter. Im now running Roon through a United Audio Apollo twin/x interface through Barefoot powered studio monitors. The Eclipse looks like new and is wonderful amp/dac combo. I particularly appreciate that the electronics run off of the battery making for a secure/known source of power. I live in an old house and the power can be quite a nuisance at times. The unit charges the battery as it plays while plugged in, negating any chance of battery drainage. Ive had this a number of years without any problems. I dont have the original box anymore. Function tested and kept in original packaging. These are considered to be the best headphone dac/amp by many professionals that I respect. And I love the way they sound.
