Um seine Geschichte zu feiern, hat Wharfedale mit der Heritage Series Nachbildungen berhmter Modelle aus seiner Vergangenheit etabliert, die mit zeitgenssischen Techniken und Materialien komplett berarbeitet wurden. Der neueste Lautsprecher in dieser Sammlung ist die Linton 85. Der ursprngliche Linton debtierte 1965 und die Linie wurde in verschiedenen Iterationen bis Ende der 1970er Jahre fortgesetzt. Es war ein klassisches Modell seiner Zeit, das als ernstzunehmender Hi-Fi-Sprecher, aber auch als relativ ordentlich angesehen wurde. Das Gehuse war massiv, gro genug, um drei Antriebseinheiten aufzunehmen, einschlielich einer groen Basseinheit, aber nach den heutigen Mastben nicht bermig unhandlich. Der neue Linton hat eine deutliche Familienhnlichkeit. Auch es ist ein Drei-Wege-Model mit Standfu - eine Seltenheit in der Neuzeit -, das hnliche Proportionen wie die klassischen Linton-Modelle beibehlt. Das Gehuse aus Holzfurnier hat einen Vintage-Look, aber der Standard der Verarbeitung ist ausgesprochen zeitgem. Der Linton nutzt seine breite Basis, indem er einen groen (nach modernen Mastben) Bass-Treiber mit einem 200-mm-Kevlar-Kegel einbaut, der auf einem starren Chassis aus Druckguss montiert ist. Darber befindet sich ein 135-mm-Mitteltner mit einem gewebten Kevlar-Kegel, der in einem eigenen Innengehuse untergebracht ist. Schlielich verarbeitet ein 25-mm-Hochtner mit Gewebekuppel und einem Ferritmagneten mit hohem Fluss hohe Frequenzen. Die ursprnglichen Linton-Inkarnationen der 1960er und 1970er Jahre waren bekannt fr ihre reichhaltige und natrliche Klangqualitt. Das neue Modell behlt diese Attribute bei, verbessert jedoch die Leistung in jeder Abteilung. Sein Bass ist tief und gut definiert, sein Mittenbereich klar und offen, mit frei atmender Dynamik und einer expansiven Skala, die Musik zum Leben erweckt. The cd player fully works, and both drawers open and close smoothly and play cds faultlessly. The Tuner is picking up some AM frequencies but not FM. This may just be the round aerial I have plugged in it that isnt very good, and some of the digits arent fully illuminated on the Tuner but still are readable. The tape decks both play both sides and in auto reverse as they should, and both fast forward and rewind as they should. The volume knob is a bit crackly. Its probably a bit of dust. Sometimes, I just need to wiggle it slightly to get it through both speakers. One speaker I have noticed had a slight tear to the woofer. I have done a video of the stereo playing as in this description, but I cant attach it to eBay. Looking around on eBay there seems to be different models of this speaker?This is the 3 way version?Please decide for yourselves. There is a small hole to the side of one of the tweeters (see pic) but still working well.Other components look to be in good order. WHARFDALE LINTON 3XP VINTAGE SPEAKERS with Wires. Not used for a while however when last used about 5 years ago worked fine. Some age related marks on top of one of the speakers and a chip side of speaker (all pictured) Other than that all good and ready to go.
