Early Silver Frame Western Electric 755A 8 Speaker. Measures 8 3/8 x 3 1/8. Net Weight 5.0 lbs/2.27kg. There is a tear in the cone. Please see pictures above. There are no rubs and this speaker is tested and works great. DCR reads 3.0 Ohms. The metal frame has been repainted many years ago. You can still see the golden WE faintly in the frame. Definitely an early Silver speaker frame as evidenced by the paint being rubbed off at some areas of the frame. You can see it is SILVER paint underneath. Best cabinet I have ever tried with the 755A, superior sound unchallenged by any other cabinet design and design, contemporary or vintage (incl. WEs own cabs). This is a Western Electric 420A JW 5755 clear top getter less. This was part of a lot of tubes that all the boxes suffered from dampness and were falling apart. So I am selling them as open box but they are NOS. They have been fully tested using a TV7D/U which has been refurbished and calibrated. Tested as 40-40/25. I do not have plate current numbers but will retest on a Hickok 539C which will provide more information. As can be seen the tube is in excellent physical condition as well as electrical condition. No shorts, No leakage. No cracks around pins and no corrossion on pins. Shipping will be USPS first class and well packed in a small box. Thanks for looking. Note: I tested this tube on the Hickok 539C as 5755 and it tested as follows (Gm micro mhos and current in Ma. ) 1600-1625/975 at 1.8ma for each section. No shorts or leakage detected.
