ONE Western Electric 7A amplifier very clean unit and all original, transformers test OK. Manufactured in 1921 this amplifier uses 3x WE 216A (comparable with WE 101D but with filament of 5.5-6.0V) . No rust all switches, post nuts, knobs are flawless. Wiring original. Selling this 7A amp without 216A tubes (offered in other auctions, please check out) This amplifier is being offered as used, as a historical unit its for the collector but should be great to use with a DIY power supply or better, original 2A power supply, driving very efficient loudspeakers. Tubes are matched for dynamic gain and structure- test at 1150, 1125, 1075 where pass/fail is 470 micromho, when tested as an 01A tube with a 6.3 V filament (as operated in the 7A/14A amplifier). They have the same structure inside and out. The tubes have also been tested in a 7A amplifier and they provided good audio. There is no blue gas in the bulb when at operating voltage.
