For sale: 1 x 49 feet (~ 15 meters) wire from WE 1086/87B amplifier system used in Talkie Movie Theater with late 1930’s Mirrophonic Sound in New York City, NY. Wires used to provided connection between output sound coil power distribution cabinets in amplifier/projector room and stage. We have 2 about 47-49 feet long. Actual length is about 49 feet (but one end could be rough or dirty from cutting electrical conduits during demolition) , so we listed it as clean 46 feet each. Stranded conductor is about 9-10 Gauge, smade of WE’s “Hard Drawn” tinned copper in tight braided Black fabric jacket. Wires are very dusty from removing during demolition. Insulation condition: conductor is good and bright after 70-80 years, still retained original smell, pulled from metal tube conduits, see pictures. Wires sold AS IS no return because of age.
