This listing is for one VPI anti-skating mechanism (for upgrade) that hasnt been used but is missing the thin Nylon filament. This filament could easily be replaced by a short length of fishing line. I was unboxing my VPI Scout and JMW-9 tonearm, only to discover I had two anti-skate mechanisms. I had purchased the second along with a different counterweight (to accommodate my choice of MC phono cartridge), but the additional anti-skate device is nothing more than a spare. You are bidding on a VPI SDS system in excellent working condition. I purchased this from Audio Classics several years ago and only used it a handful of times, its been in its original box in a closet for ages. Aside from the unit itself, i have the original instructions and box as well as two power cables (one extra long one as included originally). Sad to sell as these are quite hard to find but i just dont use it. Will be double-boxed for shipping to protect the unit and the original box. Up for auction is my recently serviced (by George Meyer AV), upgraded VPI Scout turntable. The turntable was significantly upgraded with the JMW Memorial 10.5i Tonearm and the HRX/Scoutmaster 2 platter and inverted bearing. This is the perfect table for those who want more than the stock Scout or Prime. It is boxed up and ready to ship. The JMW 10.5i arm has the VTA on the fly tower, that you dont get on any table below the $5K VPI Prime 21. It is wired internally with Nordost Valhalla wiring from the cartridge pins all the way through to the cable junction box, with an additional 2.5 grams effective mass for greater cartridge compatibility (including lighter, low compliance carts), variable pivot fluid damping, and mechanical anti-skate control. please note, I used the twisted wire anti skate method recommend by VPI an no longer have the rubber anti-skate weights. Also included is the Soundsmith counterintuitive, VPI alignment jig, and Ginko cover (although the cover is modified by me to fit the much larger arm. No cartridge is included with the sale. However, I would recommend the Ortofon Quintent Black. This is a heavy table, and will come in 2 boxes (1 for the table the second for the cover) No returns or warranty implied.
