Bei dem Vincent KHV-1pre handelt es sich um einen audiophilen Hybridverstärker (Röhrenvorstufe / Transistorendstufe), der als Kopfhörerverstärker und/oder als Vorverstärker eingesetzt werden kann. Er verfügt über ein Röhrenschauglas, das dreistufig dimmbar und bei Bedarf auch abschaltbar ist. Es sind zwei Röhren des Typs 12AX7 verbaut. Das Gerät hat zwei Eingänge, zwischen denen man mithilfe eines Schalters auf der Front umschalten kann. Zudem gibt es auch einen Line-Ausgang, der wie der Kopfhörerausgang ebenfalls mithilfe des Lautstärkestellers geregelt wird. In einer Kette, die aus maximal zwei Zuspielern und einem Endverstärker oder zwei Aktivboxen besteht, kann der KHV-1 damit auch als Vorverstärker eingesetzt werden.
