CARTRIDGE - ZYX SILVER LOW OUTPUT HERE IS A LIST OF ALL UPGRADED PARTS & MODIFICATIONS: 2. COMPRESSED AIR SUPPLY MODIFICATION. One of major operational VERSA DYNAMIC turntable component is double-head compressor-vacuum unit. Compressed air is produced by the original compressor had major modifications, including next aspects of compressed air quality: 1. Linearity of compressed air.2. Compressed air moisture condition. 3. Ability for visual control and adjustment of air pressure in real time for each of the air operated components - (air bearing and/or slider) during listening session. Compressed air produced by any compressor pulsates in same frequency as compressor’s pistons. Because Versa Dynamic compressor supplies air in real time each pulse of the compressor pistons can be auditioned in any high-end hi-fi audio system. Small tank installed in the compressor does not eliminate audio interference of pulsation. Any high-end audio system makes it impossible to use compressor without special device, designed to convert pulsating compressed air into linear air. This unit is placed between the compressor output and versa dynamic controller input. The component for this modification was designed by the owner - Marlen Mogilever and is implemented in this version of versa dynamic turntable. Because the air pressure on the turntable bearing and slider are different - you must implement separate unit for the bearing and the slider called ACUFLOW. 3. WHAT IS AN ACUFLOW? Acuflow is a separate standing unit based on special high pressure air valve. Acuflow has an input air connector for pulsating air from versa dynamic compressor and output connector for linear air. Output air is fully adjustable from zero to maximum pressure supplied by the compressor. Each Acuflow unit has two gauges - left gauge reads compressor’s air pressure, right - reads output of regulated linear air pressure. Because Versa Dynamic turntable has two air operated components - air bering and slider with different air pressure requirements per each component, this version of versa dynamic turntable implements two Acuflow units. Acuflow one (red knob) - controls air bering by supplying 20 psi. of linear compressed air and Acuflow two (black knob) - controls slider by supplying optimum pressure of linear compressed air for any desired hi-fi audio system set up. Compressed air pressure per each device can be seen, controlled and adjusted in real time.Each Acuflow unit has water collecting tank, which helps to dry up compressed air output and can be discharged after each listening session. 4. PLATTER MODIFICATION Original versa dynamic platter is made from aluminium and based on using vacuum to “sucks-in” record to platter. This innovation has couple of negative aspects. Before placing the record on the turntable you have to be sure that the platter is absolutely dust-free and any material left on the platter (which is under vacuum pressure) will be impregnated into the record groove. This process is irreversible and may ruin the LP. Even the special platter mat cannot guarantee the safety of the LP. This vacuum “clamping” process makes you nervous during each listening session as you cannot be assured that there no foreign substances on the platter or the mat itself. The records you are listening to should be absolutely flat. Any warped record, even of minimal degree is unplayable because it cannot be 100% sealed to platter through the vacuum process. This versa dynamic turntable went through major platter modification. This modification consists of using one of the best available platters from Peter Forsell turntable. This precision platter is very heavy and made from manmade composite material, with internal vibration close to internal vibration of vinyl used for record manufacturing. This platter from Forcell turntable is placed on top of original versa dynamic turntable wth the spindle design for clamping record to the platter. The platter itself is heavy and needs little force to be applied to start the rotation of the turn table with LP. 5. SPRING BASE MODIFICATION The Versa dynamics turntable is based on using springs of different tension per each corner of the turntable in correlation with the weight. The negative aspect of this is vibration of the turntable base leads to change of all parameters for slider-cartridge set up. Springs by nature very unstable and by themselves a source of vibration.This version of Versa Dynamics turntable was modified by replacing springs with four columns made frommanmade compose material with vibration damping qualities. The sound quality after this modification is much better in all parameters of sound reproduction - speed, transparency, dynamics and sound stage. 6. ANTI-VIBRATION SYSTEM MODIFICATION This version of Versa Dynamic turntable employs additional, the best anti-vibration components, designed by the owner - Marlen Mogilever. Each corner of turntable base has a solid brass conic post placed on “vibe buster” - unit made from sandwich-like manmade composite core covered with high-density foam.
