Verastarr 12 & 8 Silver Plated Hyperlitz OFHC Audiophile Speaker Cables Wires This offering includes- One Pair (2) of 12 foot long Verastarr Utra-Reference speaker cables, male banana to male banana 1:1 for the two front channels.One single 8 foot long Verastarr Silver-Reference speaker cable, male banana to male banana 1:1 for center channel. These were made around 2004 by Verastarr in the USA. The 12 long Ultra Reference cables sold for $1200 a pair, and the single 8 long Silver Reference cable was $450 ($900 a pair). I used the wayback machine to pull up a 2004 copy of the Verastarr website, and have screen captures in the photographs showing their discussion, details of the construction and price list. Very informative so please read to understand just how nice these are. If you know anything about high end speaker cables, you understand what makes these special. Each cable run is a beefy dual 6 conductor hyperlitz assembly of 99.99 silver plated 99.999 OFHC copper in virgin teflon dielectric, with each polarity group independently shielded in silver plated OFHC copper shield, and again insulated in virgin teflon dielectric to minimize any cross talk. The red and black braided nylon outer sheath has low dielectric absorption and is anti-static. If you read the descriptions from the screen captures they go into more detail. I cannot guarantee that the banana jacks are WBT with pro-gold treatment as indicated in the description- there were some variations over the years. However, these original banana jacks are certainly quality gold plated and were fully up to Verastarr standards at the time of manufacture. These cables should have a lot of love very well burned in, but also have the expected amount of minor wear and tear for well used but well cared for cables. I see some minor sun fading here and there, some minor wear in the nylon sheath, and some minor wear on the plugs, some minor damage to the heat shrink here and there. Overall they are still in great usable condition, and will provide excellent service for years to come and an amazing improvement in clarity and sound stage over any common wire.
