Twenty years ago this Velodyne subwoofer was top of the line. Retailing for $2,999, many considered it the most accurate and powerful subwoofer you could buy for your home. It has an 18 inch driver, Class D 1,250 watt amplifier (3,000 watts peak) in an equally large enclosure: 24 x 21 x 19. At that time, few products even came close. Is the HGS-18 as good as todays best subwoofers? Maybe not, but here is a quote from a 1999 review of the HGS-18 in Home Theater & HiFi magazine: Of course, if all one listened to was some Mozart, there would be no need for a subwoofer of this size. It is the Mel Gibson and Danny Glover movies that demand something to make the earth move. If explosions werent potent enough just with volume, now we find that the depths of their sounds were never plumbed at home before. I never did an update (probably should if one is still available) and I didnt even know the front panel came off to take pictures of the driver until I did this listing. Truely carried in and never moved. Im sorry about the terrible pictures. Unit is tough to picture. There are a few surface marks from normal cleaning. Nothing major and nothing worth pointing out. The unit is over 100 pounds, so it wasnt moved. The black gloss finish looks very nice. Im including the digital kit, remote and manual as pictured. Hallo zusammen, verkauft wird ein extrem kompakter Aktiv- Subwoofer von Velodyne (25 x 25 x 30) dem Impact Mini in der Farbe Wei. Der Subwoofer befindet sich in einem guten gebrauchten Zustand und funktioniert einwandfrei. Es sind kleine Gebrauchtspuren vorhanden, diese habe ich versucht so gut es geht kenntlich zu machen, die Funktion ist davon in keinster Weise beeintrchtigt. Der Subwoofer lief bei mir in einem Heimkino Setup und war am Subwoofer out des Receivers angeschlossen. Ich hatte anfnglich das Problem, dass der Subwoofer bei einem Monokabel sich nicht automatisch eingeschaltet hat. Daher lege ich ein Mono-Stereo-Cinch Kabel bei, mit dem die automatische Einschaltung immer funktioniert hat. Der Subwoofer lsst sich aber auch per High-Level Konfiguration anschlieen (Wenn zb kein separater Subwoofer out Anschluss vorhanden ist oder man den Subwoofer im Stereo Betrieb verwenden mchte. Irrer Tiefgang und je nach Wunsch und Einstellung sehr sauber und trocken bis heftig voluminös spielend. Raummoden können durch mehrere parametrische Equalizer hervorragend ausgeglichen werden, d.h. der Woofer ist an praktisch jeden Hörraum anpassbar. Ein Traum für eine gute Hifi-Anlage, bringt natürlich aber auch jedes Heimkino zum Beben. Der Woofer stand seither in einem dunklen Hörraum im Keller: keine direkte Sonneneinstrahlung, kein Staub, Nichtraucher, keine TiereTechnisch und optisch top, keine Macken.
