Absolutely beautiful 2CE set from vandersteen along with original floor stands to keep them off of hardwood or carpet and raise the concert level sound throughout the room even more. If you’re looking for a real listening experience this is it. You won’t ever find another set of speakers that reproduce sound, instruments, voices, or anything like these for the price. Originally 4k back when they were released they’re still the most popular audiophile speaker in the world. Vandersteen still works on them to this date as well so if you ever have anything needing work he can always do it. The right mid driver is starting to separate from the surrounding foam which is very common for speakers this age, all it’s going to take to fix is replacing the outer ring and screwing it back on. Not a huge deal, but I don’t run these loud or bass heavy so that speaker isn’t affected by any of the frequencies that I am putting out of them. The only time you’ll hear them is if you have a song that is incorrectly mastered and has a poorly rendered bass sound. Otherwise my sub handles the heavy lifting of the low ends and they carry on the show of the music with no problems at all. I have my uncle coming into town in a few weeks who works on speakers and would be willing to do the job for free to get that taken care of with no problem at all. He’s worked on hundreds of vandersteens, klipsh, and many other loudspeakers. It’s a very easy job to do and not very expensive. The driver itself is 100% fine and tested. The seal is the only thing that makes a noise at low frequencies. But keeping the mid and lows at 0 to -2 db on the back of them corrects this very easily. I’ve got a class d amp that is brand new, along with new biwire banana plugs, a velodyne 10 inch sub (shakes the pictures on your wall at quarter volume easily) and quite a few other things that I can add in if you’re looking for an absolutely complete ready to go set. Just plug in and play. I’ve got other avance, Boston, and another set of vandersteen 4 speakers with the tan cloth for sale if you’d like the 4’s and these for a giant movie theater you won’t get a better setup or deal anywhere else. These are a great vintage Vandersteen speakers from 2004. The Model 2Ce speakers are in immaculate condition both cosmetically and sonically. This is perhaps Vandersteen’s best selling speaker. The detail and openness is very rare at this price point. This is due to Vandersteen’s philosophy to put the money into the design, speaker and crossover components rather than the enclosure finish and appearance. Yet they still are beautiful speakers. Bought these Sig ll Anniversary Editionabout three years ago from the Vandersteen dealer when the Sig 3s came out.I also have the Acoustic Zen Satori shotgun bi-wire speaker cable for these if you are interested. The four spades, (for each speaker end), have been filed down to fit in the slots on the Vandersteen speaker screw type binders. I believe the shot gun cables, as highly recommended by Vandersteen, are heavy and GREAT sounding Acoustic Zen cables were about $1700.00. Let me know if you would like to have these as well to go with the speakers. I will make you a great deal! Note there is only one cable of the pair pictured. Note that listed price is for speakers only! Cables are extra. Only one pictured but there is a pair of course. Bought three years ago from the Vandersteen dealer when the Sig 3s came out. I paid $1850.00 for them with the dedicated stands which I remember being a very good deal at the time. I put about 50 hours on them, (tops), then we moved and they did not fit in the new space. They have been in their original boxes in a heated storage since then. The stands are in separate original box as well. From a smoke free, pet and scent free, home. Need to find these a good home.
