This is the rare export version Sony TA 5650 V-FET integrated stereo amp rated at 80w/ch at 8 ohms as it has worldwide switchable voltage 100 to 240 volts 50/60hz . The voltage conversion plug is located on rear panel of the amp behind the clear plastic cover on the black plug . This assure you can use it in any part of the world wow! At present it adjusted for USA 120v/60hz. This amp has all orginal fully tested SONY eight ! Matched V-fet transistors all rank 55 there are 4X SONY 2SJ18 and 4X 2SK60 VFETs . 80w/ch into 8 ohms from Eight V-FET goodness producing AWESOME MAGICAL MIDRANGE SOUND! SONY invented the very unique and expensive to develop V-FET transistor to emanulate the warm midrange sound of a triode vaccum tube from a solid state transistor in 1970s . This amp has recently been fully serviced, ITS VERY RARE to find one that been fully serviced as its lot of hard work and have to be done right ! The death diodes known to take out the V-fet transistors have been replaced . The transistors bias for each channel adjusted at conservative 43-44mA for cool running , long term reliability with no degradation in sound performance , the Sony revised service bulletin calls for as high as 50mA bias . Here is the list of what very hard was done over 3 months : All switches , potentiometers cleaned from inside out the rotary switches brass contact actually cleaned with brass polish . The potentiometer cleaned with deposit-5 cleaner fader lubricant , resulting in zero static noises and like new performance . This amp has all the Sony service bulletins modifications with different value resistors in place of the old ones in critical areas of the power amp drive board for better performance . Every single electrolytic capacitor in the unit has been replaced in every single board . The power supply twin giant 10,000uf/50v capacitors replaced with higher capacity twin 12,000uf/80v capacitors . The power amp driver board has all new better specs than orginal transistors. The twin so called death double diode replaced with custom made 2x IN4148 diodes of better specs ensuring long term safe and trouble free operation . The power amp , the tone amp and filter board, power supply have all quality new transistors where they were needed , the electrolytic caps are quality nichicon new electrolytic capacitors made especially for audio use , these caps are Nichicon fine gold UFG and UKZ MUSE caps found only in hue end audio also the old coupling capacitors were replaced with German quality WIMA coupling film capacitors . 5. New silicon heat transfer compound added to VFET transistors when mounting them back for excellent heat transfer to heat sink keeping them cool. 6. Double diode modificstion added to power supply to make the power supply stable as mentioned by Sony VFET amp experts online 7. New multi turn 2.2k vishay pots added to power amp driver board the adjust the mA bias on the v-fet transistors accurately and bias adjusted to consrvative 43-45mA for long life less heat operation with no degrade in performance . 8.
