Description
The RS-TX60 will change the way you experience home entertainment. Imagine having a DVD recorder/player combined with a massive hard drive that holds up to 200 hours' worth of shows, plus TiVo's intuitive, easy-to-use program guide. By bringing together all of these amazing conveniences in a single machine, Toshiba delivers everything you need to take total control of your TV viewing, and so much more! Offering cool A/V networking capabilities, Home Media enables the RS-TX60 to become part of your wired or wireless home computer network (a USB network adapter is required). Stream MP3 music files and digital photos from your computer's hard drive and enjoy them on your TV or home theater system. Stuck across town (or across the country)? Home Media lets you easily schedule your TiVo recordings to the RS-TX60 from any location with access to the Internet. Even connect another TiVo Series2 DVR elsewhere in your home for program-sharing between the two units. Along with user-friendly automatic recording, the RS-TX60 offers manual recording by time and channel. Either way, the hard drive is instantly ready to save your favorite video. As you watch shows stored on the hard drive, you can delete them as you go, then transfer any material you want to keep to recordable DVD discs. For hassle-free timer recording with an external cable box or satellite tuner, Toshiba includes an IR blaster to transmit infrared (IR) signals that let your recorder change channels even if you're not there. The built-in TiVo Basic™ service offers a free, 3-day program guide to simplify recording TV shows, and lets you control live TV — pause, rewind and fast foward to catch the good stuff. You can upgrade at any time to the more full-featured TiVo Plus™ service (a subscription is required) with its 14-day program guide and TiVo's Home Media™ features. OTA Antenna - This unit was made before the change to HD OTA so it requires a converter box & IR Blaster (both not included) to use with today's broadcasting in HD. I do not have a converter box or IR Blaster to test. TiVo has information online on how to set up a HD OTA converter box for Series2 see link below: https://www.tivo.com/assets/files_assets/Antenna_Converter_Instructions.pdf TV Connections - this unit does not have a HDMI connection. If your TV does not have RCA inputs like mine then you will need a RCA to HDMI adaptor (about $10 on Amazon) Not included. There are some other options I believe on the unit but I needed HDMI. Updated/Cleared & Deleted/Tested - I have cleaned it up, cleared and deleted everything, and connected it to Tivo Network for any.software updates available. This can take about 2-3 hours total depending on the age of the unit and the last time it was done. I do this for a reason as I have had some units in the past that would not complete an update and a clear and delete everything and I sell those as not working for parts/repair. Testing Notes - I tested the DVD player and it played a movie. Hard Drive works and no noise and plays back recorded shows. I could not update channel guide as I don't have a converter box for the OTA signal. I do not have a cable card to test. Included with purchase Toshiba TiVo Unit Original Toshiba/TiVo Remote Power Cord Software updated and memory cleared deleted Packaged with care in new/newer box, bubble wrapped and insured. Not included Does not include anything else I used or mentioned when testing that you may want or need depending on how you plan to use. No Converter Box & No IR Blaster for OTA No Cable Card No USB Connector for Internet No TiVo subscription - contact TiVo for options NOTE: Unit has a scratch/blemish on the top lower right noticeable in photo that I was unable to clean/remove & missing plastic feet (does not impact performance). If important I can find you some replacement feet just message me.
