QED DS-1 Discsaver Turntable Upgrade Phono Stage Preamplifier Boxed Great condition, very little use. Pet and smoke free home.

This is a very flexible and only 3.5mm diameter per side cable for installation into turntables such as the Technics 1200 where the cable fits in the clip. Designed for people, like me, that restore vintage turntables this is the most flexible and smallest high quality OFC cable I have found that has BOTH A FOIL AND BRAID SCREEN. Often cables of this size have only a lapped screen not even a braid! but this one gives 100% shielding making it suitable for MM or MC cartridges. I have covered it with a braid to enclose the ground lead into a convenient bundle and left 6 at the turntable end for it to be easily routed into the machine. This will be fine for any of the Technics models such as 1200, 1300,1400, 1500, 1600,1700 etc! Also easy to wire into a din plug. I have described it as 1.3m - so you can cut down to the size you want. 1.2m will give you close to 75pF capacitance for a MM cartridge.

So by now you know you can upgrade the sound of your turntable with one of these, or you want to run a turntable through an amp that doesn’t have a phono stage built in. This may be one of your best and cheapest upgrades. I have upgraded to a Pro-jest phono stage to go with my new Pro-ject turntable. This has a new battery which will last months of regular usage. QED Disc Save DS-1 Pre Amp - Powered from Internal batteries or external 12v power supply (not supplied) I purchased this to convert all of my LPs (vinyl!) to MP3 format on my PC but never got round to using it. It would be installed between the Stereo L&R phono output from my turntable into my Audio in on the PC. It amplified the signal from a MM (Moving Magnet) cartridge on the turntable to the level needed for Line In inputs. It can also be used as a pre-amp between turntable and power amp or headphone amp. It is a great bit of kit with a reputation for excellent build and sound quality. No box, but will be securely packed when posted. Happy to answer any questions if I can.
