TRIO KT-8000 FM Tuner Used TestedDescriptionThe TRIO KT-8000 is an FM-only tuner released in 1977. Despite being in the mid-range price range, the KT-8000 was a cost-effective tuner equipped with a front-end 7-band varicon, a pulse-counting detection system developed for the KT-9700, a double conversion system for the IF section, and 2-stage switching of the IF bandwidth. Tuning sound has been confirmed.This is the main unit only. It has been cleaned. The front end is equipped with an FM 7-band varicon with high selectivity characteristics. The RF section uses a dual-gate MOS-FET with good linearity, and the mixer section uses a DD MOS-FET to achieve excellent interference rejection and a low distortion circuit with excellent high-frequency characteristics. A large 60 mm flywheel is used for the tuning knob. The tuning knob has a large 60 mm flywheel, which together with the signal and tuning meters, ensures smooth and accurate tuning. The IF section can be selected between “WIDE,” which emphasizes sound quality with low distortion, and “NARROW,” which provides clear reception with high selectivity. The IF part uses a phase-linear ceramic filter with excellent group delay characteristics and other components to achieve low distortion.
