Description
I’ve been an audiophile since I was 12 and ordered my first amp and turntable thru the mail, after building my own speakers! Fast forward several decades, now I have more than I can handle. There are deals to be had, maybe you should have them, and get the same thrill I got when that first amp showed up on my porch. This is a GRACE G707 TONEARM, produced starting in the 1970s for low mass, high-compliance cartridges. These are semi-legendary for their excellent performance, and they were a go-to item for many high-end turntables. This one is TESTED, and WORKING, but has a few issues, to wit: 1) the cueing lever has to be held up, otherwise it lowers slowly to the record. 2) the plastic bracket that holds the cueing piston is cracked (very common, and replacement brackets are available here on eBay, 40 bucks for 2), and 3) scratches on the arm wand and age appropriate wear. It came to me with a Grado ZF-3 cartridge, and it’ll come to you that way. It’s a good sounding combo: the last photos show it playing Liszt on my (not included) ERA tester turntable. Low start bid on this lightweight light fixer-upper is ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-FIVE DAMN U.S. DOLLARS. Shipping is TWENTY-FIVE BUCKS in the CONUS, well-packed (this delicate thing will require a LOT of attention in that regard) and fully insured. THE FINE PRINT: NO RETURNS. Description is as thorough as I can make it and take it (take photos, that is). International shipping is through eBay International Shipping, as far as I am concerned. Your use or non-use of sketchy dropbox re-shippers is your business and your risk. Payment is due in 48 hours, please— this stuff isn’t life necessities, have the dosh when you bid. Don’t bid if you’ve never mounted a cartridge to a tonearm, or a tonearm to a turntable.
