A classic turntable that is often listed in the top 10 essential turntables of all time. It was built to last using high quality components. High-performance belt-driven turntable which employs; Anti-skating force control, Audiophile Tonearm. Cueing device, Detachable dust cover, Solid Oak cabinet, Isolator feet & Suspended chassis.Refurbishments & Upgrades:All internal & external working parts have been properly cleaned, serviced, polished, oiled & greased where appropriate - all are in perfect working condition. The underside of the chassis has been properly isolated using high quality dampening material (see pics). This removes unwanted vibrations and improves the sound presentation. My Thorens TD 147 came with this plinth installed and also the stock plinth. I opted to put the stock one back on so I am looking to sell this one. I do not think this plinth was designed for the TD 147 as there was no cut out for the power input from the transformer. The screw wholes on the bottom of the plinth are where the previous owner sort of attached it to the bottom. It was not ideal but could be done properly I believe. The previous owner must have added the Thorens burn mark on the front. The bottom part of the plinth can easily be rotated 180 degrees in order to hide this text at the rear end of the turntable if desired. It comes with some golden metal feet glued to the bottom. If you do not want these feet let me know and I will remove them and discount you $10. I tried finding out where this plinth came from and it looks like Etsy. I cant put the URL link in the eBay listing but if you Google Oak wood PLINTH for Thorens TD-160 / 145 turntable series / Custom turntable wood plinth you should see it in an Etsy store at almost $350 CAD + tax. The internal measurements are 400x310mm. Please make sure your turntable will fit before purchasing. General All items come from a smoke free home. Thorens Td160b Face Plate and Inner Platter. Td160 plinth - looks like it is from a much later model. This has a much finer veneer than the original TD160 plinth and looks like it is Mdf rather than chipboard as per the 1970a original. The colour is darker as well more like rosewood. The plinth has cutouts for lid hinges and it doesn’t have the aluminium strip on the front upon which the lid rests when shut.
