They were shipped to me with hard polystyrene surrounding them but no bag to protect them. The hard polystyrene protective foam rubbed on the finish and they look like they were slightly sanded or rubbed with a light abrasive material. I was able to work on them to make them look decent with a little TLC but they still show the issue especially in any direct sunlight. This doesnt bother me that much but some folks will really not like it.I cant capture it perfectly in images but please carefully inspect my images and decide what you think. I shined a light to highlight it as best as I could. There is visible rubbing and wear on the paint job. In some lighting it is not very noticeable and in direct light as shown or sunlight it stands out much more. It obviously does not affect the sound. These are very heavy and hard to ship, therefore no returns are possible. They ship in 3 packages. PLEASE DO NOT BUY if you plan to return them for any reason. Tekton makes a wide variety of designs. These particular ones speakers sound and also measure very good. They are an unusual design which I find extra fun. They will make a great match with a big sub(s) or if you have a smaller room or dont need deep bass, they will handle things well on their own.The sound with this particular design is quite neutral and engaging. Honestly these are very nice speakers with smooth, neutral response and excellent off axis response (good directivity). Speakers are in very good cosmetic and working condition. Grill cloth has some flaws (one much more than the other.) The emblem is missing on one of the grills. Cabinets are very nice but there are a few tiny imperfections from contact. Vacuum cleaner marks can be seen at the bases. The footers are missing. These measure 6.43 and 6.36 ohms. Description: Floorstanding, three-way, reflex-loaded loudspeaker. Drive-units: three 1 ring-radiator tweeters, two 10 pulp-cone woofers. Frequency range: 30Hz–30kHz. Impedance: 8 ohms (average). 2 Tekton OB Open Baffle speaker that I bought directly from Tekton. All of the drivers are highest quality Seas speakers from Norway. 3 drivers per speaker. Ordered with the $200 Clarity Caps and Cardas binding post upgrades. The speakers are in excellent condition and sound very impressive. They come in the original boxes and with the floor spikes. Id rather not ship (but I will) because it will be expensive, so pickup is preferred in the Denver area.
