Out of the box you first set up the 33 speed on the 2nd rim of dots from the top so the gyroscopic reader sees this turntable showing fixed dots for its intended speed. Switch speed to 45 speed and no further pitch adjustment is necessary - as strobe already displays perfect pitch adjustment at 45 speed – steady dots – clever Technics! Pitch adjustment is available to cover both speeds, if required, for fine adjustment or BPM beat matching for example. The Technics SL-D303 sports a superb rock-solid tonearm which employs a similar design principle as featured in the world renowned SL-1200 and SL-1210 models. The sound quality is clear with a rhythmic, solid beat, which I put down to the rigorous standard of the drive system and steady platter, combined with accurate tracking from a well designed tonearm. This Technics SL-D303 turntable does come with a lift-on-lift off lid. This listing includes the original Technics rubber mat & a magnetic cartridge and stylus.
