(1) Technics SE-TX100 Class AA power amplifier with the original box + packing foam These were the very first amplifiers to be THX certified in the 1980s and were sold as a high-end surround sound set up, 5-unit package, that featured (3)! separate SE-TX100 amps + preamp + AV selector. The complete sets are very difficult to find! The amps have a sort of Star Wars look to them, in my opinion. I affectionately refer to them as Vader amps. As far as I can tell, these are identical to the Technics SE-A50 amps, except they lack the mono/stereo switch on the back that allows for amp bridging. Featuring Technics new class A - later become class AA. Class AA was named because they coupled the voltage drive amp and the current drive (power amp) via a resistor bridge to the speakers, hence AA was made. The VC-4 marking was referring to the resistor coupling of the 2 stages. These amps max out @ 115W/ch at 8 ohms and near 180W/ch into 4 ohms. This unit was fully internal checked up. No signs of internal corrosion, no sign of capacitors leaks, no sign of circuit board degrading. No sign of previous repair or modification. The internal circuit is in original condition. All dials, all inputs, buttons and speaker outputs are tested. Sound output is crisp and powerful on all speakers + output terminals. I have 2 of these amps, but I like them so much, Im keeping 1 for daily use. If they were bridgeable, Id definitely keep both of them. You are purchasing a used Technics SE-TX100 Power Amplifier. The amplifier has been used and does show some surface wear on the sides and top of the amplifier. The amplifier has been fully tested and works as it should mechanically. The light bars under the left and right channel operators on the front of the system do not light up please note this before the purchase.
