This vintage (late 1970’s) Technics Receiver is in working order. There are however some bigger cosmetic issues (detail in Pic 4) as well as some smaller operational issues. Wooden frame is in generally good condition for its age with wear. The receiver is sold as is and it could use a good cleaning. Made in Japan. When tuning knob is turned, dial needle moves fine, but it makes some noise. The meter for Signal-strength/center-tuning is functional (Pic 12).- Panel illumination light works, including the stereo indicator lamp.- Headphones output works fine.- Speaker Selector switches work. Main and Remote speaker outputs at the back are both functional.- Bass Tone Control works but is missing the knob (the shaft is hard to turn).- Treble Tone Control is missing the knob and the shaft is broken off. There is also some sticker residue around where the shaft used to be.- High-filter switch works. The switch lever is bent and its silver plastic cover falls off easily because there is a fracture in the plastic cover of the switch lever.- Loudness switch works. The switch lever is bent.- Balance Control works but is missing the knob. The shaft turns easily and some scratching can be heard in the speakers as the shaft is turned.- FM Muting/Mode selector switch works. The switch lever is slightly bent.- Tape Monitor Selector switches work, however they are not switching well as their movement will produce scratchiness in the Source sound. This is especially true for the Tape 1 switch which needs to be wiggled until a clean sound from the Source is obtained.- Input Selector and all inputs at the back work fine as well as Volume Control. Even though this receiver works, please note that it still operates on 40+ year old capacitors which might eventually need replacement. You will receive this used vintage Technics Receiver as seen in the photos.
