This seems to be a rare deck in North America I see most being sold out of the UK. Very good deck one of the best 2 heads deck available. Working properly with stable speed and good WF numbers. The case has scratches and scuffs on the sides and top. The face plate is in very good condition. If shipping comes in lower I will refund the difference to you.

This is a great example of a very highly regarded deck from Technics. Coming towards the end of the cassette era, this machine is based on decades of incremental improvements, and represents the pinnacle of analogue tape technology. This machine is presented in very good, fully working and serviced condition, and includes a high quality mains lead and a printed copy of the original instruction manual, to make sure you can get the best performance out of this fantastic deck. The specification is phenomenal, including: Dolby B/C and HX ProHighly accurate fluorescent metering with peak hold2-motor, full logic-controlled direct drive transportAuto tape type selectAdjustable recording bias currentHeadphone output on the front panel, with adjustable levelDigital tape counter This machine was one of two almost identical decks made at the same time – the RS-B555 (this one) and the RS-B565 (which had upgraded capacitors, but was otherwise identical in every way). We have heard both, and they are both excellent sounding machines. A scan of the online forums suggests that, contrary to what you would expect, the RS-B555 sounds the better of the two, and is widely recognised as an outstanding deck that needs no modification to deliver audiophile quality sound. Technics RS-B555 Direct Drive Cassette Tape Deck- Like New. This is one of technics best ever tape decks please check out independent review s. This is my own personal tape deck in excellent working order tested. I have only a couple of tapes i preferred to listen to my music by records and cds i only purchased this to fill a empty gap in my Hi-Fi unit so the unit looked complete. The unit as had only a few tapes in since I purched it as you can see from the images theres not a mark on it . This is a fantastic buy for for someone getting into the reinterest in cassettes. I will post it out very securely and well packaged it comes with original audio cable and a new 60 minute blank tape. You can download instructions from the Internet.
