Absolutely nothing wrong with head unit (which you connect to receiver/amplifier via Coax, Optical, or RCA jack). Head unit can connect to 2.4Ghz WiFi or Ethernet cable. You run a local music server (see link below) on PC, Docker, etc. Music server was known prior as Logitech Media Server (LMS) but now is now opensource and called Lyrion.
