Auto callibration system. Post fade facility. Dolby B/C and DBX Noise reduction systems. Recent full transport service and PSU recap by Lee Peters, former Nak Central engineer (125 receipt supplied) this deck comes within a cats whisker of my Nakamichi CR7 in replay sound quality. This TEAC V-909RX is a auto-reverse stereo cassette deck with Dolby B and C and DBX noise reduction, it was first sold by TEAC. The main features of the TEAC V-909RX are: 3 heads and no off-tape monitoring to save production cost, digital tape counter with 4 digits, tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome and metal tapes, belt driven auto reverse transport. Typical front loading cassette deck with the cassette compartiment located on the left side of the deck. Tape eject is operated mechanically and the cassette needs to be placed with the side to be played facing forward in the cassette well. Just missing the cover! Level meters used on the V-909RX are generic digital peak reading meters. Full-logic transport controls used on the V-909RX let it respond to the slightest finger contact for fast and effortless transport function selection. Dolby C-type used in the V-909RX provides 20 dB of noise reduction above about 1,000 Hz, fully doubling the amount given by B-type. Dbx Type II found in the V-909RX is a simplified version of the Type I noise reduction system. The dbx Type II system was designed to be used with systems with limited bandwidth such as cassette based recorders and also uses a simple 2:1:2 compander to reduce noise. To make live recordings this deck has 2 microphone inputs to connect microphones with a jack connector. For undisturbed listening a jack connector for a pair of stereo headphones is supplied. See pics. Good condition. Some wear on rewind, stop and play. Tested with the only 2 cassette tapes that I have and both were being Eaton. Luckily the unit is smart enough to stop playing before it’s a total mess. Ejects, rewinds, fast forward, stop and play seem to work fine. Nothing else tested.
