Marantz CD-48 with Philips TDA1549 and CDM12 laser; Modified; Extremely musical, transparent, easy to listen to.Comes with a brand new remote control. This remote is not original, but works very well and has more features than the original Sony remote control.This is an excellent CD Player! It sounds amazingly good. It has light signs of regular use and it is extremely clean inside and out.Please take a look at the photos.If you have a high resolution system you will hear the sound improvements from the first moment you play the music from this player. If you do not, then this is a good start to improve your system and find out the weak link in your system as with this player you will have the audio source that you can use as a reference.This player has RCA digital output so can also be used as a transport for your external DAC.Here is a short description o the modifications:Capacitors around the DAC are replaced with high grade Nichicon capacitors; Electrolytic capacitors are bypassed with high quality film capacitors.Additional capacitors are added o major voltage rails for fine noise filtering.Output OPAMP is upgraded to LME49720. New OPAMP is a top performing part for this purpose and surpasses performance of the generic OPAMP used in the original circuit.Old Philips blue capacitors are replaced with high grade capacitors. Output signal capacitors are replaced with high grade audio capacitors.Muting is disabled as muting transistors are removed to preserve the purity of the audio signal.Antivibration ring is installed on the crystal oscillator.Laser lens is cleaned up.Loading mechanism is lubricated for smooth operation.New CD loading tray belt is installed.RCA connectors and power connector blades are also cleaned.I hope this player will bring a new life to your CD collection.The sound is very reach and analog (tube like).
