Description
For sale: Vintage Tara Labs network speaker cable pair in functional condition. The overall quality is considered good, although its worth noting that the terminals exhibit some wear, with one terminal having been replaced at some point. The network boxes have aged and are noticeably yellowed over time. I originally acquired these cables from an audiophile friend and enjoyed their performance for years. However, Ive since transitioned to Neotech bulk cable for reasons related to home decor. ** Below are my personal subjective opinions, not that you can expect similar results.** I felt they were better (clearer w/better bass) than generic heavy-gauge-fine-stranded, and also better than Kimber 8TC. My hand-braided CAT5 had great soundstage and clarity but the Tara Labs has all that with fuller deeper bass. The adjustable filter does make a difference in my opinion. Its slight, not heavy-handed. I dont find it affects the tonality. In my opinion you get to dial in how open and 3D the soundstage can sound Vs. more locked-down imaging. Its the only way I can describe it. Beware; They are thick and heavy so not great for mini-monitors on stands. 7 feet is not as long as you think so best to be equipment-centered or monoblocks. Their presence certainly makes a statement and not everyones aesthetic. The boxes sit at the speaker side. Better for floor-standers. I think despite modern metallurgy, these hold up sonically and are unique.
