For sale are these unique clones of the most desired Tannoy Westminster.The speakers were made 15 years ago.These speakers arent made on the Chinese cabinets you can find on Alibaba or Aliexpress.The cabinet is made from Baltic plywood and copies the original Tannoy cabinet inside-out, while the Chinese copies are made of chip wood and have the internal horn layout completely wrong.The drivers are original Tannoy 15 dual concentric model 3828, very similar to the 3835 used in the 1999 Westminster, the cones have been tinted with blue watercolour, and both drivers have new foams fitted.The crossover (picture nr 9) significantly improved over the original, made with audiophile components; the look is rough but works perfectly.Unfortunately, the veneer is in very bad shape, with parts chipped, discoloured and patched peeling from the plywood. The internal components are straightforward to de-mount, and the cabinets can be sent to be professionally veneered.The speakers are in daily use and work perfectly and sound great.They are selling because they are too big since we downsized our abode.We ship within the UKAlternatively, you can pick them up and test in Wishaw (Scotland).UK buyers only.
