TANNOY legendäre Koaxial 2-Wege Lautsprecher HPD315A Paar 12 Koaxial HPD315A (AlNiCo) Treiber aus der Monitor HPD Serie (verstärkte Membran), Nachfolger der berühmten Monitor Gold Serie, welche in den Cheviot und Devon Gehäusen eingesetzt, oder auch als Bausatz zu bekommen waren. Sie wurden von 1975-1979 in England gebaut und haben bis heute unter HIFI Enthusiasten und Vintage Liebhabern einen hervorragenden Ruf. Wie alle Lautsprecher dieses Alters haben die original Schamstoffsicken einen Austausch erfahren. Anders als bei einem Re-Coning sind hier lediglich die beschädigten Sicken von einer Fachwerkstatt erneuert worden. Die Klangqualität ist herausragend. Den Tannoy Klang habe immer als sehr harmonisch empfunden. Die Bässe sind nicht zu trocken und kraftvoll die Mitten und Höhen für meinen Geschmack angenehm warm und insgesamt harmonisch, sodaß man den Sound nach längerem Hören nicht über wird. Darüberhinaus sind sie nicht allzu kritisch bei der Aufstellung. Die Frequenzweiche verfügt über Regler die sowohl den Energiepegel des Hochtöners als auch den Grad der Absenkung über 5 kHz zu steuern. Die Weiche wurde mit einer einfachen Brücke modifiziert, um einen besseren Klang im Mitteltonbereich zu erzielen. Diese kann auf Wunsch ganz leicht rückgängig gemacht werden. Ich habe die Lautsprecher in speziell berechneten 60 Liter Gehäusen aus 30 mm MDF betrieben (s. Tannoy Cheviot HPD315 1976. Relisted due to an issue with previous listing. Selling a very nice pair of Tannoy Cheviot speakers. These use the excellent HPD315 dual-concentric 12” drivers. The driver edge foam was replaced on each drive unit last year with correct spec foam and sound really nice. I can supply pictures of the re-foaming. The cabinets are slightly different in colour to each other, as are the grill cloths see pictures. I would suggest this may be down to one of them having been placed near a window (sunlight) by the previous owner? One of the sides has a scratch (I have tried to photograph this) and a couple of other small age-related nicks but I think they could be restored to a good standard with some TLC. These are large units and are substantial in scale and sound. I used these with my Audio Note OTO SE valve amp and they sound beautiful. I am selling as I have another pair of Cheviots and need to sell these to pay for a pair of LS3/5a’s I bought recently. They are too big and heavy to post so will need to be collected from West Norwood, SE27 where they can be checked over/listened to.
