Shipping Cost: free if domestic (USA) - International: To be negotiatedShips to: WorldwideItem Location: Miami, Florida, United States Early serial# 015667 and #017884Model: 15” Dual Concentric LSType: LSU/HF/15L. 15 OHMS Impedance. Manufactured by Tannoy Products. London. England. All original. The black cloth was removed by me because of termites. There have only been two owners. The first one was the importing store in Havana, the name of the store was called “California Alta Fidelidad” until 1960, up until the owner of the store decided to flee the country. The owner of that store used to directly import audio gear like Goodman’s, Leak, Garrard, Guad, etc., from England. I purchased the Tannoy speakers in 1960 at Cuban peso value. Let me note that in 1960, the Cuban peso had the same value as a British sterling pound. I am the second owner and have owned the speakers since 1960. I have had possession of the speakers first since Cuba and then in USA after I fled in 1995, and have kept them wrapped and protected to date. (I’m 81 years old, and my grandson is 21 who is helping me list this on ebay). At the end of this description you will find some references for your knowledge. I apologize for not mentioning the book by G.A. Briggs (Wharfedale) or Bent O. Knutsen (Architectural acoustics). Returning to the matter, you need to know, these speakers are highly efficient but lack sufficient power support. They are not suitable for modern transistor amplifiers. I used these speakers with British amplifiers (Quad II, Leak Varislope). Mostly, single-ended 3 watts are more than enough power. The accordion paper/cloth surround is practically indestructible. What nobody talks about is how to maintain these speakers: They must be rotated a quarter turn, from the position they are screwed into the furniture in, every 1 or 2 years. This is so you avoid the possibility of the cone leaning to one side, which I have done every year since 1960. For my security and yours, please have a phone number listed under your name. I wont ship anything until I talk to buyer on the phone or verify the phone number & the payment is deposited into my bank. Sorry but the scammers are too popular these days. Forms of payment accepted: Zelle, Bank-wire, Credit card (small fee would apply) or through Ebay.Forms of payment not accepted: Cash, Check, Money order, etc. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
