Tandberg TR-2030 Receiver- excellent condition example of 1970s audio excellence.Hard to find in this condition. All controls have been cleaned in the last few years, but with any vintage similar devices, you may experience controls with static or other small noises. The beat protection is to routinely activate all potentiometers and switches to maintain good performance. This receiver is rated at 30 watts per channel, but, like all examples in the Tandberg TR range, they tend to perform above the published specifications - this example sound strong with the trademark warmth typical of the brand. The FM tuner, always a strength of Tandberg works perfectly and sounds very good, as it should. The presets - an advanced and early capability. Please note - the t of the FM presets is commonly misunderstood. The preset is “set” by turning the small controls under the preset buttons. Each rotary control acts like an independent tuning dial and presets are defined by turning these rotating controls to find the appropriate station for each of your presets. Never push these smaller rotary controls as if they are buttons - they are not and pushing them can create a significant repair effort. All other inputs and the headphone output were tested. Cosmetically, the receiver is in excellent condition with marks as expected from normal usage. The Tandberg receivers of this range did not use RCA connections as was standard for other manufacturers. I am including an appropriate adaptor to enable the connection of one stereo (L/R) RCA device to this receiver. Additional such adaptors are available and affordable of you require them.
