Tandberg TR-2030 Receiver- excellent condition example of 1970s audio excellence.Hard to find in this condition. All controls have been cleaned in the last few years, but with any vintage similar devices, you may experience controls with static or other small noises. The beat protection is to routinely activate all potentiometers and switches to maintain good performance. This receiver is rated at 30 watts per channel, but, like all examples in the Tandberg TR range, they tend to perform above the published specifications - this example sound strong with the trademark warmth typical of the brand. The FM tuner, always a strength of Tandberg works perfectly and sounds very good, as it should. The presets - an advanced and early capability. Please note - the t of the FM presets is commonly misunderstood. The preset is “set” by turning the small controls under the preset buttons. Each rotary control acts like an independent tuning dial and presets are defined by turning these rotating controls to find the appropriate station for each of your presets. Never push these smaller rotary controls as if they are buttons - they are not and pushing them can create a significant repair effort. All other inputs and the headphone output were tested. Cosmetically, the receiver is in excellent condition with marks as expected from normal usage. The Tandberg receivers of this range did not use RCA connections as was standard for other manufacturers. I am including an appropriate adaptor to enable the connection of one stereo (L/R) RCA device to this receiver. Additional such adaptors are available and affordable of you require them. As this is a vintage device, it is difficult to ensure that rough shipping does not create some issue. here is a vintage (i think 1970s) Tandberg TR 2030 FM Stereo Receiver (it does not have AM). the unit is 20 1/4 x 13 x 5, it weighs 20 pounds. cosmetically the unit looks good, i tried to show the flaws on the unit in the pictures. theres a scratch on the top on the wood trim, a long scratch on the bottom, the power cord needs to be fixed and theres a few minor nicks and scratches. i tested the unit and it works and sounds very good. the front panel lights up like it should. i couldnt test the unit with a tape deck or a turntable because the connectors were European style, not the standard RCA connectors. the unit could use a good cleaning. if you look at the pictures of the back you can see the dust by the speaker terminals. i shined a flashlight inside the unit and its dusty in there. someone wrote an ID number on the back of the unit, i dont know if that will come off. there is a bit of scratch in the control knobs. if you look at the back of the unit theres a white sticker in the upper left hand side describing the wood on the cabinet. after i finished packing the unit i found that on the floor. i didnt want to repack the unit so i put a piece of plastic around the sticker and taped it to the top of the box. theres no tape touching the sticker so you can remove it from the box and reattach it to the unit. i packed the unit in a compact box but i wrapped 1 1/2 thick gray foam around the unit and i reinforced the sides of the box with thick cardboard. the box was new. i used the ebay shipping calculator so the shipping price shown is the actual shipping cost. i didnt charge anything for the box or the packing materials.
