This matches well with a network player or CD player and can handle tower speakers easily as the 80W are conservatively rated. It does not disconnect the Cyclone from the mains supply. Push it once to silence the amplifier and push it again to restore the audio output. The blue LED above this button will illuminate when the amplifier is connected to the mains supply and switched on via the rear panel rocker switch. The red LED indicates whether the amplifier’s output is operational: if it is glowing the amplifier’s output is connected; if it is not the amplifier’s audio circuits are muted. If for any reason the blue LED is illuminated but the red LED will not come on when the mute button, or any input button, is pressed then your amplifier is in protection mode and should be returned to your dealer for examination. CD: select this button to listen to your CD player or any other source you have connected to the CD input. Tuner: select this button to listen to your tuner or any other source you have connected to the Tuner input. Aux: select this button to listen to any line level source you may have connected to it. AV: select this button to listen to your VCR, Laserdisc player or any other line level source you have connected to the AV input. See also section on Optional 6 Channel AV Buffer Tape 1: select this button to listen to your cassette deck or any other source you have connected to the Tape 1 input. Tape 2: select this button to listen to your cassette deck or any other source you have connected to the Tape 2 input. Monitor: On Cyclone 1.2 models only. You can only monitor Tape 1. When tape monitor is selected the LED above the Monitor button will glow green. To deselect the monitor function simply press the Monitor button again. Note: when switching inputs the mute light will flash momentarily as the switching software mutes the output to avoid clicks and bangs. Volume: this rotary control, not surprisingly, adjusts the amplifier’s audio output.

TALK ELECTRONICS CYCLONE 2.1 INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER. Sold as spares or repair, but the unit is fully working, but has a crackle on the left channels, independent of which RCA source is used. May need recapping? Apart from that the unit is in super cosmetic condition, with no scratches or dings, but not the shaft for the volume knob is slightly out of true, so the knob moves in an arc when turned, but works fine. Probably a quick straighten with pliers would do it once you have the case off. A super amp, just needing some TLC. Ships with power cable and original manual. The Talk Electonics Cyclone 2.1 is a fully complimentary Class AB mosfet design biased towards Class A operation. The use of a bigger transformer coupled with higher-quality capacitors and improved circuit design has resulted in a conservatively-rated 100 Watts into 8 Ohms. Although it has a relatively simple industrial design, it's almost flashy when compared to the models from Creek and Naim. The faceplate has been machined into two planes, the higher separated from the lower by a line that suggests a gently rolling wave. The increase in muscularity over the Cyclone 1.1 has to be heard to be believed - loud orchestral passages and choral music is even more powerful and the additional scale and dimension given to a performance can only be described as awesome. The greater power reserve inherent in this amplifier means that more subtle and delicate music - string quartets and unaccompanied female vocals - is projected into the room with hugely impressive control and poise. Music becomes more effortless - 'hi-fi' terminology such as 'a more liquid sound' has been used in the past to describe this amplifier. The Talk Electronics Cyclone 2.1 is a truly exceptional amplifier that simply must be heard.
