Presented for sale is a Sony TA-3650 Integrated Stereo Amplifier from the 1970s. Before using this unit, I made sure the unit was within electronic specifications and safe to use. I checked all the capacitors with an in-circuit ESR meter and only found three small ones that were slightly out of spec. These were removed and checked for true capacitance and replaced with high quality Nichicon capacitors. There were no resistors out of spec. I cleaned the switches and pots with Deoxit (sparingly). I cleaned the chassis and circuit boards with Isopropyl Alcohol. This unit still has to wood veneer side panels that are in excellent condition. Please view the pictures carefully. There are a few tiny barely noticeable hairline scratches in the front panel. These are clearly visible in the pictures if you zoom in on a large monitor. (Hint: always use a monitor and not a phone to view items on eBay. You will amazed at the details you can spot. I used this unit with my Turntable and Marantz Receiver and outputted to a pair of Bose 6.1 speakers from the 1980s. It sounds amazing using this setup. This Sony amplifier paired with the right speakers will be more than adequate for the largest residential amphitheater. I am downsizing to a smaller place and do not have the room for a unit this big and powerful, but I have packaged the unit carefully and I am missing that sound quality already. The unit is double boxed with two layers of 3/4 styrofoam that should survive the rough and tumble treatment we seem to be getting nowadays form the major carriers.
