I purchased these speakers 2 years ago from a high-end audio company that specializes in audiophile products that may have dents or dings. They had acquired these speakers from an individual who had moved, and the speakers were damaged during the move. Having retired from a high-end home theater company myself, and having sold these speakers at retail, I had great knowledge about their performance. I could never afford their $12k (pair) retail price but these were priced right and I just had to have them. Fast forward to today and I have downsized with nowhere to put them. They measure 9 x 22 x 58 and weigh 110 lbs. each. The moving damage is shown in the pictures, please review. I had planned to touch up the damaged areas with some black gloss paint, but after placing them in my room, the damaged areas were not noticeable. My friends and family were all amazed by their sound and none of them could notice the dings that I did not conceal. Their sound is incredible. These were my favorite speakers to listen to out of all of the speakers I had heard in almost 40 years in the audio business. The internal workings of each speaker consist of an 1800-watt Forcefield amplifier powering 3 each 6x 10 woofers. There are 4 each 9 1/2 x 10 1/2 quadratic planar infrasonic radiators. There are 2 each 6 mid-bass drivers and 1 each High Velocity Folded Ribbon Tweeter. I cannot ship these, you will need to arrange pickup at my home in Rocklin, CA.

You are bidding on a pair of Triton 5s. I am the original owner; the speakers have been used as the front pair in a small home theatre. They have always been crossed over to subwoofers and played at moderate volume, so the drivers have not been driven hard. Along with pictures, you will find distortion and frequency response measurements made just before they were pulled out of my system. They show intact in-room frequency response and low distortion. The speakers are in excellent shape both acoustically and cosmetically. Like other Golden Ear speakers, they have wide dispersion and a huge soundstage. Stereophile concluded: GoldenEars Triton Five Tower appears to be another well-engineered loudspeaker…offering excellent measured performance at an affordable price. A review from Soundstage Access concluded: a true high-end speaker at a true entry-level price. It receives my highest recommendation. The speaker features dual 6” bass/midrange drivers, a Heil-type ribbon tweeter, and four 8” passive radiators. Golden Ear claims a frequency response of 26-35,000 Hz, although Stereophile measurements show -6 dB around 40 Hz. The sensitivity is a high 90 dB, so they do not demand much amplifier power. However, the impedance is 4 ohms, so ensure your receiver or amp is rated for 4-ohm loads. Golden Ear recommends 15 to 400 watts per channel. If you are unfamiliar with Golden Ear, most of their speakers are wrapped in black fabric on all four sides with glossy plastic tops and bases. They are unobtrusive and blend in well with most décor. Golden Ear makes tower speakers with built-in powered subwoofers, but this is not one of those models. This is their top passive model. The cabinet is tapered, so if you ignore the base, they are about 6-5/8” wide at the front and 8-1/8” at the rear. With the integrated base, they measure 11-1/16 W x 44-1/2 H x 16-9/16 D. In other words, they appear tall and slim but deep. I have the original boxes and packing material. No shipping charge for local pickup.
