Released in 1974, the SX-434 is perfect for those who prefer sound perfectness over volume. Very good buy today! In a handsome package of quality circuitry and reasonable price, the SX-434 offers very sensitive FM reception a wide linear type dial scale for fine FM tuning, and highly respectable specifications both for the FM tuner section and the audio section. Its versatile unit, too because you can use it with almost all music sources available today, including records, tape, FM and microphone. Best of all its Pioneer made, which means that, for its price, there is probably nothing available today that can compare with its quality. This piece of technical art has two speaker zones and both Headphone & Mic jacks on the front panel. The tuning dial is complemented with a Stereo indicator lamp and Tuning meter. In addition to the Speaker & Function, Volume, Balance and click-stop Bass & Treble controls, there are switches for Stereo/Mono, FM Muting, Tape Monitor and a Loudness button that contours the sound perfectly for low level listening. The manual says this unit has Continuous Power rating of 30 Watts, or 15 W/Ch into 8? or 4? through full spectrum with both channels driven. Peak power goes much higher in range 2-3X continuous power rating. The rear panel offers two speaker zones, an Aux Input, a Tape Loop with the PLAY/REC DIN jack found in the higher-end offerings of the era, and a stereo Phono Input with a grounding post for your turntables! It also has two AC outlets, switched & unswitched, user-access to the protection fuses. It weighs in at over 17 lbs and measures 17 x 13.75 x 5.5 tall! Condition:This beautiful receiver is in Very Good condition with minor signs of use and a nice, clean front panel! Aside from some scratches to the top and a ding to the back-left corner, the only thing worth mentioning are just a few light front panel scuffs, most too faint to make out well in the pics. All knobs are present & complete, as are the feet and attached AM Antenna & AC cord.
