I have here a vintage Pioneer SX-1050 receiver. I have tested this unit well. I am 90% sure it has a secondary power supply problem. Why, I am a technician and I have confirmed the following...... Tuner tests well and pulls in Stereo (see pic).Phono stage works well. Tested. I have +/- 61 Volts on the main B+ supply which is perfect. The unit will not come out of protection and the line stage preamp doesnt work either. The voltage on the emitter (output) is 6volts. Very odd value and what confirms to me it is a common power supply issue is that the oddball voltages in the power amp section are 100% identical in both the left and the right chs. If you are a techy guy at all you know that points to the only thing common to the two amps...... power supply. Again, main supply is perfect at +/- 61 volts. I am very certain if you have the time and $50 it can be repaired by installing all caps, transistors, etc. in that supply board. There are several fellows selling kits on ebay at very reasonable prices. The front face is surprisingly clean but some dings are on the top of the face. Some damage as well on the back corners of the wood. Knobs and switches have been cleaned and look fantastic. I wish I had the time for a project like this. I will only ship internationally if you use ebays Intl shipping. NOTHING direct.

Up for sale is a very nice, properly working Pioneer SX-1050 solid state stereo receiver. It easily puts out its rated power 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms on our Sound Technology test panel. It came to us in very clean condition but we did a light clean up on the outside. The inside was almost spotless as we received it. It works great after we: > Cleaned the pots, switches and tuner cap bearings with Caig Labs deOxit. >Replaced some lamps with warm white LEDs. >Changed bad speaker relay. Note that power switch is 100% functional but a little sticky mechanically. We ran music through it for a few hours and it worked as it should. Also tested cold the next morning and still all OK! Not fully restored but tested carefully We consider it plug and play as it sits. Were giving it a strong 7.5, maybe an 8 on a 1-10 scale for cosmetic condition, just a few minor blemishes here and there. A few dings on the wood cabinet are the biggest issue. It will be very well packed with and double boxed for extra protection. We promise it will arrive working properly and exactly as described No long term guarantee beyond that. Shipping to the USA only unless youre using eBay Global Shipping program. The Sound Well has been selling Vintage Home Stereo Components in Berkeley since 1974 under mostly same ownership. So for $300 more you get $600 value on speakers. Savings of $300 on the low end. Thats $1000 for driving. I would drive to anyones house for a grand.
