Naim have long been critical of many higher end cables when used with their equipment. The general feeling being that whilst some elements of the sound were improved it was often at the expense of Pace, Rhythm and Timing for example - Values that Naim hold extremely high. It caused great excitement when we heard about Super Lumina cables - They are a by-product of the magnificent Statement amplifier development program - Designed to extract the maximum performance from your Naim System, it is well within their capability to allow any 500 or Classic series system to give up its best. Our initial listening tests revealed a level of honesty and clarity not previously heard through our Naim systems. This SuperLumina interconnect is lovingly hand crafted at the Naim factory in Salisbury and de-stressed on the custom cable shaker before leaving! What Naim Audio Say: During the development of Statement, our flagship amplification system, our engineers realised that they would need to design a whole new range of high-performance cables for it to reach its true potential. With this in mind they began a development project to design interconnects and speaker cable that would meet Statement standards of performance. Through a deep understanding of material science and after thousands of hours testing in the listening room, the Super Lumina range was born. Designed to maximise the performance of Statement but equally at home in 500 Series and Classic Series systems, Super Lumina pre to power amp interconnects are available with DIN to XLR. Features Super Lumina interconnects are designed to minimise the effect of external and internal interference sources and preserve maximum signal fidelity. The fundamental cable design consists of several individually-insulated multi-strand silver-plated copper conductors of varying diameters enclosed in a tin-plated copper shield. This is all enclosed in a soft outer jacket which facilitates easy installation whilst minimising microphonic interference. Each signal, return, ground and shield conductor is individually manufactured for its specific function. The Naim Audio Air-PLUG The Super Lumina interconnects feature an advanced version of Naim Audio’s patented Air-PLUG technology first introduced for the Hi-Line. All DIN and XLR connectors use the Air-PLUG connector which is designed as a decoupling device to minimise microphonic interference and preserve the integrity of the audio signal. The new Super Lumina Air-PLUG features multiple individual aluminium rings which form the rear of the connector. These are screwed together to form an articulating section which inhibits the passage of unwanted energy, the choice of aluminium as a material enhances this process.
