The vintage SONY STR-AV880 Audio/Video Control Center is a stereo receiver featuring 110 watts per channel output. It supports FM and AM modes and includes a radio tuner for broadcasting. Made in Japan in 1986, this Sony stereo receiver is designed to deliver quality analog audio performance. Excellent specs. The distortion on this is infinitesimal! 110 watts/channel at 8 ohms. MIJ. The phono input on this is excellent. Great turntables sound incredible through this. A great system for the vinyl/dvd/vhs traditionalist. No remote needed, but the original remote IS included. These are becoming quite popular with the stereo afficionado who owns lots of vintage 1980s media (vhs, dvd, cd & vinyl), that theyre not ready to part with. The surround sound effect is a bit hokey, but the power amp section is awesome; strong, loud, deep bass, crisp highs, solid mids, excellent phono preamp with selectable cartridge settings (MC or MM) - a bargain, to be sure. And a loud rocker amplifier stage thatll melt wallpaper. Buyer pays shipping. Bench tested, works great; I went over the whole PCBs; theres no cold solder joints, no ground issues or buzzes, no bulging capacitors, no scratchy pots. Its clean as a whistle inside and out. Very low hours for its age. No signs of any damage or wear at all. I took this on a trade for a tape player I no longer needed. Bench tested, Ive been using this on my work bench and it works great! Much better than any noisy Chinese or Malaysian box store junk they sell by the pound nowadays.
