This vintage Sony STR-6050 FM Stereo/FM-AM Receiver dates to the early 1970s, was replaced, and went into storage in a smoke and pet free home about 35 years ago. It has been tested by the owner (not “bench tested”) and performed quite well. I played a phonograph record through this receiver, and it sounded very good. AM/FM reception was tested, and it sounded very good, as well. However, I did not test inputs/outputs for Tape or Aux. Overall, this item has a very good appearance for its age, but there are a few smudges and marks on the brushed aluminum front panel and the borders at the top and bottom of the front show some very slight discoloration. Also, the small selector knob at the right side of the front panel needs to be re-glued (all other controls are intact, and work as expected). I thought it best to leave these minor issues to the buyer to deal with. The receiver does not come with a wood case, but the original Owner’s Instruction Manual and the Sony Corp. of America Catalog for this and several other products available at the time this unit was purchased are included in the sale. The unit was manufactured in Japan. (Please see all photos.) The receiver measures about 17.5 inches wide, about 13.5 inches deep, about 6.0 inches high, and weighs almost 21 pounds. With a very sturdy carton measuring about 21” x 17” x 13” and weighing 2 pounds 4.3 ounces (and with appropriate packaging), the receiver would have a shipping weight of between 23 and 24 pounds.
