Nice Sony STR-5800SD stereo receiver in working condition. Rated at 55 watts into 8 ohms. Looks really nice as the photos show with all lamps working. The controls are clean and noise free. Excellent tuner and phono preamp. Overall a really well built unit weighing in at 35 lbs. Made in 1976-1978 when Sony was still making high quality gear that sounded as good or better than any of the other Japanese brands. 2 tape monitors, 1 phono, headphone jack, 1 aux and 3 speaker outs that can handle 4-16 ohm speakers. Sounds great! Having said all that understand that this is an untouched original vintage piece of electronics that is being sold as is with no guarantee that could probably benefit from a service by a knowledgeable tech. $250. Bought this 4 years ago with the intention of building an awesome surround sound system. Never got around to using it. I’ve tested it with 1 small speaker hooked to the front speaker output while connected to my phone, worked fine. No further testing was performed. I purchased this front a reputable supplier, but I do not offer any guarantee of any kid that this unit has issues. Simply, I’m not able to test all the functionality of this unit.
