I am selling a Stellavox SP7 device from my personal collection. This Stellavox SP7 is a must-have addition to your collection, especially if you already own Nagra and Studer reel-to-reel decks. This unit was acquired directly from the previous owner and was tested at the time of purchase. Although I had initially planned to send it for a full restoration and calibration, circumstances changed, and it has been safely stored at home since then. Cosmetically, this Stellavox SP is in very good condition, showing minimal signs of wear. Internally, it remains in its original state as far as I can discern, with no parts having been replaced since I acquired it. It has all circuit modules for the stereo work. During testing using existing AA batteries, I observed the following:Playback, and recording mode works, capstan rotated, rollers engaged. (2 transistors in SMU module were defective and replaced))When the light button is pressed, the lamp in the modulometer functions properly.Pressing the battery button causes the ch2 arrow to move slightly but does not reach the battery area.The rewind function operates smoothly, with the motor and capstan both rotating. The motor indicator shows a red bar that changes to a vertical position.The mode switch clicks, and both modulometer arrows respond accordingly and speaker sound.This Stellavox SP unit has immense potential but requires restoration expertise to bring it back to its full glory.
