I have four Sledge STA-800D2 amplifiers pulled from SVS SB3000 subwoofers. All were replaced due to varying degrees of coil whine. On two units, I attempted to dampen the whine using electronics grade silicone. This did help somewhat , but you can always cut out the silicone if it poses an issue for you. The whine only bothered me when the subwoofers were powered on but not receiving a signal - that is, the noise never distorted sound during playback. For what its worth, houseguests never commented on the whine - it was apparently imperceptible to my wifes ears (lucky!). If you have misophonia, these probably arent the amps youre looking for.
