Spendor SP 3/1 speakers for sale. I am the second or third owner. Ive owned them for 8-9 years. I had to replace the tweeters about 7 years ago. I used OEM Scanspeak D2010 tweeters rather than official Spendor tweeters, but the Scanspeak D2010 is the tweeter used by Spendor for this model. Tweeters were professionally installed by a local electronics shop. The speakers have a few marks on them. In particular, the top of one speaker has some noticeable marks on the top but nothing very deep. Please see the photos. The same speaker has a moderate smudge on one side. The other speaker has some minor marks.I used these Spendors as my main speakers for a number of years until I purchased a newer pair of Spendors last year. I put these speakers back into my system last week. They still sound really good. Newer Spendor speakers are a bit more detailed, but some find the older Spendors to be more transparent and natural sounding.I still have the original box that the speakers came in when I bought them. Speakers will be carefully packed. Speakers are in good working order but due to age are sold as is. Buyer pays shipping. I will accept PayPal, Venmo or cash if local. Local pickup available. Ich muss leider dieses Paar fantastisch klingende Spendor Lautsprecher verkaufen, da sie bei mir optisch nicht reinpassen und ich sie lieber Original wieder verkaufen möchte. Der Klang ist wunderbar fein und warm aber sehr detailliert und trotzdem musikalisch. Das Gehäuse ist in Kirschfurnier, das nur an einer Ecke eine kleine Macke hat. Die Ständer sind inklusive. Anschlüsse für Bi-Wire Kabel sind vorhanden, sowie originale vergoldete Brücken und Van den Hul Kabelbrücken. Der Neupreis der Lautsprecher liegt bei über 3000 Euro ohne die Ständer. Die passenden Bi-Wire Kabel von In-Akustik stehen auch zum Verkauf, falls Interesse besteht. Ein Versand ist möglich, die originale Verpackung ist vorhanden.

Nice pair of Spendor LS3/5a’s in great condition, later 11ohm models in a black ash finish. Will be well packed and shipped promptly.

Up for auction is an original pair of Spendor LS3/5a monitor speakers. They are 15 OHM, with sequential serial numbers 11 and 12, making them among of the first pair of Spendors sold in the US. The production date of March 1982 is stamped on the inside of the speakers. I have upgraded the original speaker taps to WBT units, a significant investment. I included a picture of the original next to the new WBT which speaks for itself. This upgrade provided noteworthy sonic improvement. The LS3/5a is one of the most famous and highly regarded monitors ever produced. Perhaps the best indication of this is they have been in virtually continuous production since the early 1970s. Designed and manufactured in Great Britain for the BBC specifically for on-site broadcast monitoring, they are extremely durable and highly accurate through-out all but lowest frequencies. Add a subwoofer and you have a system that is competitive with others costing many times more. I would add that I have owned at least 6 pairs of LS3/5as over the years, most recently Falcon Gold Badge versions. The Falcons are my favorites, but these Spendors play right with them. Klassiker aus England. Das Paar BC1 MK3 ist optisch in einem guten Zustand mit kleinen, altersbedingten Spuren. Keine größeren Kratzer oder Macken. Technisch sind die Lautsprecher vollkommen in Ordnung und der Klang ist super. Spendor eben. Die Seriennummern sind 3173 und 3174. Die Abdeckungen sind in Ordnung und natürlich auch dabei. Die BC1 laufen bei mir im Bi-Wiring-Betrieb an Cambridge Elektronik ganz hervorragend und können bei Abholung ausgiebig getestet werden. Sie werden nur verkauft, weil mir der Platz ausgeht. Pair SPENDOR England LS3/5A 11 ohm BBC MONITORS SPEAKERS consecutive serial #s XLNT! Offered for purchase is this nice pair of genuine made in England Spendor model LS3/5A BBC monitor loudspeakers with black cabinets. I believe these are the 11 ohm versions based on the serial numbers: 010124 and 010125. Dimensions of each are 7-1/2 wide x 6-3/8 deep x 12 tall, and each weighs just over 10 lbs. I have only tested these by listening to them...they sound great and all drivers are working. They do have minor edge and corner wear to the black finish on the wood cabinets. One is missing its front grill badge. The grills are securely attached but some of the velcro strips will have to be stapled back on (see photos.) A nice addition to any sound system or collection...
