This is Spendors SP9/1 manufactured in the 1990s. They are basically the floor-standing version of Spendors legendary SP-100. Ive had them for a little over 20 years and theyre still in nearly perfect shape for the age. No damage/cracking to woofers, speakers, tweeters, at all. The cabinets are structurally just as strong as Day One. Each speaker weighs over 100 pounds. They came with spikes but Ive misplaced them from moving. The story goes that this speaker was very difficult to get in the US and that Spendor only made a limited run of these because the cabinets were just too expensive to build for it to be cost-effective. Ive always cared for them - never abused them. I believe retail was north of $6K. Because of their sheer weight, they will only be for pick-up. Of course, they sound amazing. If eBay allows my video to play, Ive included a clip of them playing just to get a sense of their sound (obviously, this will be limited by your computer speakers.) I actually did a longer 8-minute video for comparison to B&Ws 805S in order to show how much deeper and articulate the Spendors go that I may be able to put on YouTube. Spendor A7 hifi speakers RRP £3995. Exceptional Condition. Just over two years old and in immaculate condition. No dings, no dents, no scuffs, no marks, literally nothing. The area under the fabric grilles has not not faded in sunlight at the same pace as the rest of the cabinets and I have reflected this in the price. If you intend to use these with the grilles on, or if you are happy to play the long game of waiting for the sunlight effect to even out over time (or you value sound above everything else of course!), you have an absolute bargain here.
