I am the original owner of this amp, purchased new in 1985. Recently recapped with Nichicon electrolytics except for main filter caps- those are low ESR, 18,000 hour rated Kemet parts. I have replaced the original TRS input jacks with high quality, gold plated RCA jacks. DC offsets are about 10 mV on both channels. This amp sounds like new and is ready to play for another 40 years! There are a couple minor dings in the finish that you can see in the photos. No rust. Specs: 205 W/ch at 8 Ohms, 300 W/ch at 4 Ohms, more at 2 Ohms.6 MOSFET output transistors per channelThis amp was praised for high power, stability under almost any load, and warm, tube-like sound. WOW!!! Soundcraftsmen MA5002 power amplifier and matching SP4002 preamplifier in like new cosmetic condition from 1978!. Comes with factory boxes and all factory packing. Comes with ALL original paperwork, manuals as well as the Soundcraftsmen demonstration LP Vinyl record. There is probably not another MA5002 and SP4002 in the USA that is in this perfect condition with original boxes and packing and all factory paperwork. The amp is rated 250 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms. Notice the photo of the factory test sheet on this particular amp: it clipped at 300 w/ch into 8 ohms and 440 w/ch into 4 ohms. At the rated 250 w/ch the distortion was 0.03% 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The SP4002 preamp is just as amazing as the power amp! It has 2 phono inputs with separately variable gain on each input as well as variable capacitance and variable resistance on each phono input. Phono inputs work with low output moving coil cartridges all the way to normal output moving magnet cartridges. I tried the phono inputs with a moving magnet cartridge and it was dead quiet even with the volume wide open! Has the built in graphic EQ. All controls and switches have been cleaned, NO static. All functions, lights, work perfectly. The amplifier protection / power supply board of the amp has had key components replaced such as SCR, opto-coupler, and startup sequence opamp. The only 2 capacitors in the signal path of the amplifier (one on each input of the power amp) have been replaced as well as bypassed by polypropylene audiophile grade capacitors.They sound spectacular!! Dynamic, powerful, detailed, smooth, with great 3D imaging. I have them set up to listen to in my living room. Source for demo is Tidal Hi-Rez streaming through SMSL m500 DAC.You will likely NEVER have another opportunity to purchase a museum quality condition set of these again. These are SO superior in condition compared to any others for sale currently or recently!! Considering condition, price is very reasonable.Also, i will include some spare parts that are a little hard to locate including SCR, Opto-coupler, logic Opamp, and Temperature sensor transistor mounted to heatsinks of amp. Soundcraftsmen DX4000 preamp from the mid 80s. This box has more switching than you can shake a stick at! There are two tape loops with switching to dub between them, three signal processor loops (2 in back, 1 in front), two headphone jacks, three line level inputs and a moving magnet phono input. It even has a set of outputs to drive two power amps in bridged mono mode! It also has four convenience power outlets on the back. It has been fully recapped with mostly Nichicon electrolytics and film caps in phono preamp board, all switches resoldered, op-amps replaced with newly manufactured parts, and +/-15V regulator added to power the op-amps (original regulators, still in place, power the phono preamp board only, as they did in 1988). All I/Os tested and working fine, no noise from volume or balance pots. Its working as well as new, probably better with the added voltage regulators. As you can see, the pushbutton caps are not the original black parts, but are 3D printed. The case has some scratches and a couple small rust spots, but so would you, if you were made in the 80s. This is a Rare Soundcraftsmen Class H Power Amplifier moder RA7503. The physical condition is good. It functions without any problem. Its heavy, around 46lbs, and it sounds really awesome. full and clear. It can deliver 250 watts per channel to 8-ohm loads from 20 to 20,000 Hz with no more than 0.09% total harmonic distortion. It is one of the few amplifiers carrying a full 4-ohm power rating, in this case 375 watts per channel from 20 to 20,000 Hz with 0.09 per cent distortion. In the bridged mode of mono operation, the RA7503 is rated at 750 watts into 8 ohms.

Soundcraftsmen AE2000 Equalizer/DifferentialComparator with Operating Manual/Other original paperwork (COSMETIC GRADE: Grade A- no dents, scratches or scuffs) Was bought brand new never used out of box in 2005 so it hasn’t been used for all the years prior since it was made. Used lightly from 2005-2018, then was stored for about 5 years in closed cabinet because I used my SC Pro EQ-44 I had instead. There was never an issue with drop-outs or scratchy sliders at any time when in use. All switches and knobs are fine, all lights are fully functional. After being in storage, the sliders are jerky/sticky from sitting, no doubt, but are functional. From the photos you can clearly see the sliders are not full of dust, cat hair and other grime like smoke. I can tell you that with the limited use it had, they shouldn’t in any way be actually worn out. I suggest the sliders be lubed/greased on the underside and probably the pots as well. I figured anyone buying this VERY RARE GEM might know better what they are doing or knows someone (an audio tech who services older units). Depending on your level of electronics expertise, you might tackle it yourself, have it fully serviced by an audio tech, or just use it “AS IS”. Restoring it to like new technically to match the cosmetics makes the most sense. Like any vintage audio piece, service is usually just part of keeping things functional and getting things up to speed if used or if they have been sitting. I’ve been lucky with most of my stuff that is in use that nothing has ever been serviced or indicated it needed service (other than time) and I have quite a few older components. Serious bidders only please. I took a few more photos as I tested it with an amp prior to listing and I have the pictures with the analyzer lights working and 2 short 8-10 second videos with music playing I can send by e-mail if you wish.
