Description
IMPORTANT NOTE: When the power adapter is plugged into the DC input on the Reel 2 Reel, the Reel 2 Reel does NOT power on. Im not sure whether the issue is with the Reel 2 Reel or with the power adapter. One, or both, of these pieces may not work, in which case they are sold for parts and/or salvage. The dynamic mic has not been tested at all. All three pieces are sold as is. Up for sale is a group of three vintage electronic pieces that I believe go together. They include a reel to reel tape recorder, an adjustable power adapter, and a dynamic microphone, all of which are rather hard to come by! The group includes ALL of the following: -Panasonic Reel to Reel tape recorder, Model No. RQ-113S, Serial No. 062862, Made in Japan by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd AND -Panasonic Adjustable power supply/adapter, Catalog No. PNP508A, Made in USA by Dynamic Instrument Corporation (Pat. 3237079) AND -Dynamic Microphone, Model No. WM-2061, Made in Japan More about the Reel 2 Reel: It runs on 9 Volts DC, which is supplied either through a power adapter (see below) or using six (6) Size C batteries. The control knob on the top surface can be rotated amongst the following four settings: Rewind, Stop, Play/FF, and Record. On the surface below the integrated handle is a FF button, a numbered volume control dial, a plug receptacle (half male, half female) for a Remote MIC, a plug receptacle (male) for a DC 9 Volt cord, and a plug receptacle (female) for Monitor. More information about this model, including specifications, can be found at the website of radiomuseum. (Search that website for RQ-113S. This model, which was branded either as Panasonic, Matsushita, or National, was made from 1967 to 1969.) More about the power supply/adapter: Per the information stamped on the device itself, the input is 120 V.A.C. 60 CY. 8W. However, the output can be adjusted to four (4) different levels, by inserting a screw in the desired location. The four possible outputs are: 9 V.D.C. @ 100 M.A.; 7.5 V.D.C. @ 100 M.A.; 6 V.D.C. @ 100 M.A.; and 4.5 V.D.C. @ 100 M.A. The cord measures about 68 inches (5 ft 8 in) and terminates in a single plug (female). More about the Dynamic Microphone: I dont see a brand name printed anywhere but there is a logo (or symbol) on the front in the form of a treble clef. This microphone has an on-off switch on the side. On the back is a plastic clip (presumably so that the mic could be carried in a shirt pocket) as well as a metal stand (to allow the mic to be placed on a flat surface). The cord measures about 80 inches (6 ft 8 in) and terminates in a 2 pronged plug (one male and one female).
