Vintage Sony TC-204 SD Stereo Cassette Deck ( Needs New Belts ). Needs new belts and power switch . Power switch needs looking at as it stays constantly ON and switch won’t power it off. I have opened it and all 3 belts are very loose . Mechanisms seems working fine. You can get new belts on eBay for about £15 with delivery.

New belts and mechanisms greased and oiled, contact cleaner on rec assy and both heads cleaned. The facia is in excellent condition except for the door - crack on perspex and small dint (see close up image). The perspex/acrylic could be replaced I imagine with a new piece cut and glued in. I have fully tested - all play functions, ff, rew, pause all work. Recording - vus good, line input level (rear) l+r fine, dolby and limiter indicator working as is the peak limiter to prevent clipping. Near 50 year old, beautiful deck, the sound is bright and clear.

Sony TC-204 SD Vintage Cassette Deck PARTS/REPAIR.. fast forwards and rewinds with no issues, counter is fine, both of the VU meters work okay, only issues I’ve found is that when I press the play button down, nothing happens, and the pause button doesn’t move. So sold completely as spares or repairs The casing of the unit has some marks as shown in the photos.
