For sale is this lovely Sony TC-U30 Dolby Stereo Cassette Deck.PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ THE LISTING IN FULL BEFORE PURCHASE.For its age, I would class this cassette deck as being in a good, used condition with a few marks, scuffs, scratches and signs of wear and use. Please check out all the pictures as these make up a large part of the description and show the condition well.Unfortunately it is only partially working. It powers on, all dials, knobs etc seem to work ok and it plays tapes. Very rarely it will play ok but usually the tape tends to unspool and then stops playing. There is also no sound from the right channel. Sony TC-U30 HiFi Stereo Cassette Deck, Classic Sony Cassette Recorder & Player. Returned from my brothers home where it had been in a cupboard these last few years, the Sony cassette decks seem to have a bit of a popular following now, as their solid build and beautiful design set them head and shoulders above the modern plasticky models. I have no tapes, so testing has been little more than making sure it lights up, runs forward and reverse and set to record from a tuner, that the led level meters worked okay and headphones gave a decent output. It will need new drive belts, a drop of switch cleaner on the level controls and switches, but it does seem to work, and is sold as spares or repair.
