Vintage Sony Model STR-4800SD AM/FM Stereo Receiver TESTED Tested Working: Unit powers on and works great. I got a clean audio output out of all 4 speaker outputs and had no issues with the unit. I cleaned the pots using deoxit and didnt find any of them to have noise after that. All pots/knobs, switches, and buttons worked great. I ran the receiver for about an hour to make sure it wasnt going to blow up and it was fine. All input and outputs were tested, including using a turntable on the phono input. The lights on the unit mostly worked, with the only issue in that regard that I noticed was the Dolby FM and Stereo light never turned on, although those functions still worked fine. The light on the main section of the tuner was also a little dim, but the red needle was nice and bright. The tuner worked great on both AM and FM, and both the signal and FM tuning meter moved and functioned correctly. Physical Condition: Unit is in pretty good physical condition overall with relatively little damage to the unit. The front face is clean on the metal and glass, with a couple small scratches on the knobs. The wood veneer has some minor damage/pealing in places, but nothing too major. The top of the unit had a number of some sort etched into it by the original owner. RARE SONY STR-4800 AM/FM STEREO RECEIVER VINTAGE AUDIO. I bought this receiver with two other pieces of high quality Sony audio equipment, also for sale on my page. I was unable to fully test this receiver but the previous owner of all three pieces of equipment stated that everything was in perfect working order when he put them in storage. No obvious signs or indications of any damage to this device. From the research I have done I could not find any other (str-4800) for sale they are all (str-4800sd). I could find a few previous results on Google that said out of stock, the cheapest of which being 350. So that is the price I decided on. This is also why I put rare in the title.
