All knobs (A+B did not work), RCA inputs/outputs (pre out not tested), FM reception, headphone output and speaker outputs have been tested and are working. All function, tuner, source direct, adapter and source direct buttons are tested and working as well. I did not hear a difference when the turnover, subsonic filter, loudness and cartridge buttons were engaged. The side panels have wear and deterioration. There is general wear and internal dust. Due to the various issues described and its age, it is being sold for parts or repair in as is condition. If you have any requests or questions, ask before purchasing. The receiver that has the Attenuator knob will go through the protection relay check pass like it’s trying to power on but the display doesn’t work. The guy I bought it from said something happened to the ground wire at his meter box on his house and it stopped working. The other receiver with the Attenuator knob that has been removed internally by the previous owner. He told me that he purchased it from a friend broke the attenuator knob off during a move. I think both of the receivers could be fixed if you could find a qualified tech who will work on these.

This vintage receiver is in fantastic condition. Everything works as designed . Faceplate is very clean. All knobs and switches are original. Still has the original plugs for the phono input. Any cosmetic defects are shown in the pictures. Some minor scratches and a slight separation of the wood veneer at the front right of the side panel. Shown in photos. This is from the series of the most desirable Sony es models with the spontaneous twin drive system. Remote not included. This is a vintage item with no warranties expressed or implied. No returns.

The condition of the receiver is good. It does show signs of wear like the the damage wood on the sides, the back and a bit over all. I tested rca input only because that’s the only thing I can test, and it works great on speaker a and speaker b

Ive had this for about 10 years and it was my main unit in the family room getting about 6 hours of use a week. Then I upgraded to separates (I have no idea why. I guess I wanted to try Rotel and Emotiva) and I moved this to our condo in Southern Ca. It got about a hour of use each year down there. I just attached a couple of Polk speakers and I am testing everything to make sure it is all working like it should. Its very clean with a few very minor scratches and no dings or dents. The wood sides are also clean although there is some chipping on one corner in the back. Works fine. Sounds very good. I will accept any reasonable offer, but since it is a used electronic component I cannot take returns. Its very heavy and must be properly packaged (double boxed) so shipping wiil be high. Local pickup is welcome.
